The Complete Guide To Hairfree

Everything you need to know about permanent hair removal with Hairfree

Chapter One: What is Hairfree?

Hairfree is a modern and efficient alternative to outdated forms of hair removal. Unlike shaving or plucking, Hairfree offers a permanent solution to unwanted hair growth, helping you to become comfortable and confident in your own skin.

There are no razors, tweezers, lasers, electricity, or pain involved: just permanent hair removal… in a tube!

Never shave, wax or pluck ever again! End the misery of unwanted hair with this new scientific hair removal method from Japan. Hairfree kills the root – just like laser hair removal – for a fraction of the cost! Eliminate embarrassing hair growth ANYWHERE on your body. Once and for all!

Designed by a team of top researchers in Japan, Hairfree is designed to safely and effectively mimic the results of laser hair removal, which is the only other form of hair removal to offer permanent results. But unlike laser hair removal, Hairfree comes in a simple wipe on/wipe off formula, making it a safe, simple, and completely pain free experience. It’s also much more convenient, with no cosmetic clinic appointment required or costly aesthetic doctor fees involved.

One of the most advanced hair removal options on the market, Hairfree combines the benefits of epilators and depilators for optimal results. While depilators remove hair from the skin’s surface, and epilators kill unwanted hair beneath the skin at the follicle, Hairfree does both. The result is smooth, silky feeling skin with absolutely no regrowth.

Unlike hair removal methods such as shaving or waxing, Hairfree is designed to protect the skin and minimise damage. It’s made with all natural FDA-approved ingredients which are 100% vegetarian and vegan friendly. This ensures that the carefully crafted cream formula does not irritate the skin, minimising the risk of redness and discomfort.

As Hairfree is such a gentle formula, it can be used to remove hair all over the body. Hairfree can be used on legs, underarms, the back, and the chest for top results. Tailored formulas are also available for intimate areas such as the bikini line, and for areas of coarse hair such as the neck, for permanent hair removal, where you need it.

It takes just 4 to 6 weeks of once-weekly use to see permanent results from Hairfree, which means you’ll never have to shave, wax, pluck, trim, or epilate ever again.

Chapter Two: Six Products for
Every Need

One of the biggest problems with most hair removal methods is that it’s assumed that every hair type, and every skin type, is the same. It’s not. That’s why the innovative Hairfree solution comes in six tailored formulas to deliver great results, every single time.

Hairfree Hair Remover
The original Hairfree Hair Remover & Growth Inhibitor is an all-round, universal product that’s effective on all normal hair types. It can be used by both men and women, and is particularly useful for permanent hair removal on arms, legs, and the underarm region.

Female Facial Hair Remover
The Female Facial Hair Remover & Growth Inhibitor is a gentle formula that’s ideal for use in sensitive areas. But despite its mildness, it’s hugely effective at removing all types of unwanted facial hair, from fine ‘fuzz’ to dark, coarse hairs on the chin and upper lip.

Male Body Hair Remover
The Male Body Hair Remover & Growth Inhibitor is one of the strongest Hairfree formulas available. It’s designed for the thicker, coarser hair on the male body, breaking down the protein structure for permanent hair removal on the chest, back, arms, and legs.

Male Beard Hair Remover
The Male Beard Hair Remover & Growth Inhibitor is specially formulated to breakdown proteins in strong, thick, and coarse beard hair that’s become tougher with daily shaving. This intense formula provides permanent hair removal when used regularly.

Intimate Hair Remover
The Intimate Hair Remover & Growth Inhibitor delivers all the benefits of a Brazilian wax, without the embarrassment. This at-home permanent hair removal treatment is ideal for the bikini line, with a formula tailored to the type of hair grown in the pubic region.

Soothing Aftercare Gel
The Soothing Aftercare Gel & Growth Inhibitor is a calming treatment that can be applied following use of any Hairfree hair remover formula. Not only does it soothe, it also contains the same growth inhibitor as the removal creams, for improved results.

Chapter Three: Why Do Men and Women Want Less Bodyhair?

Body hair is there for a reason. Many reasons, actually. It’s there to provide us with extra insulation in the cold weather, and to prevent dust and dirt from damaging the skin. And yet the amount of hair that humans naturally grow today is much less than it once was. Archaic humans, for example, are widely understood to have had a significant covering of hair all over the body. So, just why has body hair become less important?

There is a natural, ingrained human desire for hairlessness. Human instinct dictates that we naturally find people with less body hair more attractive, and so humans have typically chosen less hairy mates, resulting in new generations of people less hairy than their predecessors. But this hasn’t eradicated body hair completely, so the practice of removing hair for aesthetic reasons has been popular since Roman and Egyptian times.

Women
began removing hair to make themselves more attractive to potential partners, with many using handcrafted razors or sugar-based exfoliants to achieve the desired results. And as fashions changed over the years — shorter hemlines and sleeveless tops — hair removal became even more important. Today, hair removal is a very normal and natural part of the standard beauty routine for many women all across the world.

Men
have a slightly more complex history with hair removal. While it was common practice in earlier times (especially as body hair was often seen as being uncivilised), it became more uncommon throughout the 19th and 20th centuries and hair was viewed more as a sign of masculinity. Today, however, men are exploring more aesthetic practices once associated only with women, like hair removal and cosmetic surgery.
Body hair has a purpose, but that purpose became a lot less essential with the invention of clothing. Today, there are no health-related disadvantages to hair removal. In fact, hair removal could actually help to improve body odour and keep you feeling fresh.

Chapter Four: Hair Removal Methods Some Work Some Don’t

There are many different types of hair removal technique out there. Some work, some don’t. Some may work for some skin types and hair types, but fail to achieve the desired results on others. Let’s take a brief look at the most common options available today:

Shaving
Shaving involves cutting hairs at the surface of the skin. As the razor is unable to shave right down to the skin’s surface, a small amount of stubble can often remain. There is a risk of cuts when shaving, along with damage to the skin due to the dragging motion.
Results last: between 1-3 days

Waxing
Waxing involves covering the hair in a sticky substance and pulling the substance rapidly away from the skin which rips the hairs from the follicle. Results are often better than with shaving, but the process can be painful and damage to the skin is likely.
Results last: 3-4 weeks

Plucking
Plucking hairs using a razor is similar to waxing; the tweezers pull the hairs from the follicles for longer lasting results than shaving. However, plucking can be painful, especially in sensitive areas, and can be time consuming on large regions of the body.
Result last: 3-4 weeks

Epilating
Electrical epilators are moved slowly across the skin, which allows them to remove individual hairs from the follicle. The results are generally very good, but the experience is very similar to plucking and many people find epilators too painful to use regularly.
Results last: up to 4 weeks

Creams
Hair removal creams act as non-electrical depilators. They work by dissolving the hairs above the skin, but don’t affect the follicle itself. They are very easy to use, but some people may experience skin reactions such as redness or tingling due to the ingredients.
Results last: around 1 week

Laser
Laser hair removal is one of the most efficient and effective ways to get rid of unwanted body hair. It uses quick pulses of energy to heat the hair follicles beyond their capacity, causing them to die. Unfortunately, laser hair removal can be very costly.
Results last: permanently (with regular initial use)

Hairfree
Hairfree offers similar results to laser hair removal, working to kill the hair follicles and prevent regrowth. The difference is that Hairfree is a cream formula that can be applied quickly and easily at home without the need for expensive salon visits.
Results last: permanently (with regular initial use)

Chapter Five: Break Free From the Non-Stop Hair Removal Trap With Hairfree

Although there are many methods of effective hair removal, the problem that many men and women are experiencing right now is that they find themselves caught up in a never ending cycle of hair removal. At a time when people are leading very busy and hectic lives, there is an urgent need to break the cycle without sacrificing appearance.

That’s why it’s time to delve deeper and nip the problem in the bud… quite literally!

To break the cycle, it’s important to understand how common hair removal methods work. Most work by removing hair just from the surface of the skin. This is similar to a hair cut; it creates the appearance of less hair, without affecting the hair’s root or follicle. Some methods, like waxing, go one step further to remove hair from the follicle itself. But all this does is extend the time it takes for the hair to regrow. That’s why you may notice regrowth after just 1 day when shaving, while waxing results often last a little longer.

Hairfree is different. Hairfree not only removes surface hair, and hair at the root, but actually features active ingredients which target the follicle and stop it from doing its job. Over time, continued application of these ingredients can kill the root entirely, so that no new hairs can grow. The result is permanent hair removal in the treated area.

Hairfree offers similar results to laser hair removal, although the techniques are hugely different and the processes are based in different areas of science. Laser hair removal is technology-based, using energy to destroy the follicle. Hairfree is a natural, biology-based alternative which works by mimicking physiological processes in the body to kill the root of the problem and create naturally smooth, hairless skin.

Chapter Six: What’s All The Fuss About?

It’s simple. Hairfree combines the benefits of three separate and distinct forms of proven hair removal into a single, at-home solution that’s safe, stress-free, and really works. Hairfree is a 3-in-1 solution which acts as a depilator, epilator, and growth inhibitor.

1. Depilator
The ingredients in the Hairfree formula bond with the proteins present in the hair to break them down and dissolve them at the surface of the skin. After 4 or 5 minutes, you should notice that many of the surface hairs become loose and can be easily wiped away along with the cream. As different types of hair contain different proteins, Hairfree offers 6 different solutions tailored to everything from peach fuzz to thick, coarse hair.

2. Epilator
As well as removing hairs from the surface of the skin, Hairfree also acts as an epilator to remove hairs deep down from the follicle itself. This is similar to what happens when waxing or plucking, and ensures the entire hair is removed from the root to minimise regrowth. The advantage of this is that there is complete removal of each individual hair in the treatment area, resulting in smooth skin with absolutely no prickly stubble.

3. Growth Inhibitor
Hairfree features a revolutionary growth inhibitor — Growth Shield Factor 2:0, or GSF2:0 — that gradually destroys hair follicles to prevent new regrowth in the future. When researching male pattern baldness, scientists noted that many men had a similar cell structure which causes hair follicles to die. GSF2:0 recreates this cell structure to replicate follicle-destroying activity. With continued use, Hairfree can eradicate hair follicles completely, for permanent hair removal and smooth skin, 100% of the time.

Together, these three factors work in unison to create a permanently smooth, silky, and hair-free appearance without the need for expensive or time consuming salon visits.

Chapter Seven: How Much Do I Need To Use?

Most women will find that they need just one 75ml tube of Hairfree Facial Hair Remover & Growth Inhibitor to combat any unwanted hairs on the chin and upper lip area, and just two tubes of both the original Hairfree and Intimate Hairfree products to effectively treat other areas of the body. These recommendations are to cover the advised one treatment per week for four to six weeks for permanent hair removal and zero regrowth.

For men, it is recommended that two 75ml tubes of Intimate Hair Remover & Growth Inhibitor are used, or 3 tubes of Male Body Hair Remover or Male Beard Hair remover depending on the part of the body to be treated. Again, it is important that all hairs are covered by the cream. For areas of the body with very thick hair growth, it is advised that around 50% more cream than usual is applied for good coverage and top results.

The Hairfree formula has been specially designed for easy application, so you should find it simple to spread the cream thinly across the area and minimise waste. For best results, it is recommended that this layer remains on the skin for
between four and five minutes before removal, which gives the cream enough time to penetrate right down to the root.
The cream can then easily be removed using a cloth or the tool provided.

Chapter Ten: Hairfree For Bodybuilders

Smooth, silky, and streamlined bodies are common amongst sportspeople. In activities such as running, swimming, and cycling, being hair free is largely about aerodynamics, and about the ability to gain speed and reduce resistance. However, the desire for a hair free body is not limited only to speed sports. In fact, shaving, waxing, and plucking are actually very common amongst bodybuilders, too, and it’s all about the aesthetics.

A hair free body works to highlight the muscular appearance of bodybuilders, making it easier for competition judges to see clear definition in the shape and structure of the body. After all, no one can see a six pack if it’s hiding under a thick layer of body hair! Smooth skin, that’s free from stubble, reflects competition spotlights easily, and creates a smooth canvas for applying oils that really maximise the look of the toned muscles.

The problem that many bodybuilders are experiencing, however, is that shaving, waxing, and plucking can all be very damaging to the skin. When hair removal is done for aesthetic purposes, it’s important not to use techniques that could create more obstacles that stand in the way of feeling body confident. Shaving can pull the skin, waxing can rip the skin, and laser hair removal can burn the skin. These methods have the potential to result in redness, bumps, swelling, cuts, and bruising, all of which can prevent bodybuilders from looking and feeling their best when they’re up on stage.

Hairfree for bodybuilders is different. Made from all natural, FDA-approved ingredients, Hairfree is designed to be gentle to the skin while simultaneously delivering powerful, longer lasting results than shaving, plucking, and waxing can offer.

And best of all, the results of Hairfree can be permanent with regular initial use, which means that body hair could become one less thing you need to worry about when training for a competition.

Chapter Eleven: On The Beach With Hairfree

Gone are the days of the head-to-toe Victorian bathing suits. Today’s swimsuits are smaller than ever before, with board shorts and bikinis dominating the sands. With more skin on display, and less opportunities to cover imperfections, removing body hair has fast become an integral part of getting beach body ready in preparation for summer.

For women, beach body grooming usually involves removing hair from the legs and underarms: two areas that are most frequently on display during the warmer months of the year. On the beach, however, there’s another area that’s not to be overlooked, and that’s the bikini line. While removing hair here is certainly a personal choice, many women prefer to do a little ‘landscaping’ before wearing high cut bikinis and swimwear, creating a clean and well-maintained look and boosting confidence.

But beach body preparation isn’t just for women, and more and more men are beginning to focus on hair removal before hitting the sands. The back, shoulders, chest, and stomach are common areas for men, especially if they’ve allowed their body hair to grow over the winter months. Below the waist is also an important consideration if wearing something more revealing than board shorts, such as swimming trunks.

Smaller swimwear, however, is both a blessing and a curse. While it exposes more skin to ensure a well-rounded and enviable tan, it also leaves no room for error. If you were to cut yourself or develop ingrown hairs shaving, develop a rash from waxing, or experience a reaction to a harsh hair removal cream, the effects are likely to be noticeable on the beach. The solution? A gentle hair removal cream… with a kick.

Hairfree uses all natural vegan and vegetarian-friendly ingredients that are mild and gentle on the skin yet really pack a punch to deliver smooth, professional results. All Hairfree formulas can also be followed up with the Hairfree Soothing Aftercare gel which helps to care and protect the skin so that it’s always ready to be shown off.

Chapter Twleve: The Hairfree Metrosexual Man

While the ‘metrosexual’ is usually thought of as being quite a modern and conbookorary addition to the male landscape, it’s a concept that’s actually been around for quite a while. It developed from the goth and ‘emo’ trends that dominated the 90s, and is today used to describe men that take great pride in their appearance.

Aesthetics are becoming increasingly important to the modern man. Many are booking themselves in for minor surgeries such as botox and brow lifts, are using skincare products like moisturiser, or applying cosmetics to enhance the appearance. There has been a huge rise in recent years in the number of companies launching ranges designed exclusively for men, with products taking on nicknames such as ‘guyliner’ and ‘manscara’. The trend has been propelled further by the openness of prominent celebrities who use cosmetics, such as Russell Brand and Noel Fielding, for example.

Hair removal is yet another layer making up the metrosexual way of life. Not only are men removing hair to make themselves attractive to the opposite sex, but they’re actually doing it for themselves. They want to take pride in how they look, and feel confident in their own skin, and getting rid of aspects such as unwanted body hair which prevents them from feeling like themselves has become a big part of life. The problem for many men, however, is that body landscaping isn’t always easy.

Different hormones in the male and female bodies mean that most men naturally grow more hair than their female counterparts, and in more places, too. Hair in some areas, such as the neck and beard, for example, can also be a lot thicker, coarser, and more stubborn than leg hair or arm hair, making it even harder to remove. The solution? The Hairfree range designed exclusively for men, containing active ingredients that interact with the proteins in male hair to create a smooth appearance and prevent regrowth.

Chapter Thirteen: The Science of Hairfree

The science behind the Hairfree Hair Remover formula may seem complex, but it’s actually very simple, and it’s based on a natural human process that occurs in around half of all men aged 50 and over. To understand the science behind Hairfree, we first need to look at how hair grows, and what processes are responsible for normal growth.

The hair growth cycle is determined by cell division. In young, healthy individuals, cells stimulate the hair follicles, pushing new hair forward to make it grow longer. The average person will lose between 50 and 100 hairs throughout the day, but this is completely normal and not noticeable because of the constant cycle of new growth. However, there are certain conditions which prevent stimulation of the follicle, resulting in notable hair loss and reduced regrowth. Male pattern baldness is one such condition.

Male pattern baldness is often caused by a hormone called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, which can interact with the hair follicles on the scalp. Over time, DHT causes the follicles to become smaller, which means they’re only able to produce smaller, shorter, or lighter hairs. Eventually, the follicles will stop producing new hairs altogether.

Hairfree’s researchers in Japan delved deeper into this to more closely examine the effect of DHT on the hair follicles and look at exactly how it impacted hair growth rates. By understanding this, they were able to develop a compound that closely mimics this natural biological activity through synthetic processes to create the Hairfree formula.

And that’s exactly what powers Hairfree. The active ingredients in the cream provide new genetic instructions to the cells to stop them stimulating the follicles and essentially starving the roots of the nutrients they need to exist. The results are exactly the same: follicles become smaller, producing lighter and shorter hairs. With continued use, Hairfree can shrink the follicle completely, with no new hairs able to grow.

Chapter Fourteen: The Vital Ingredients of Hairfree

Each Hairfree formula comprises of a slightly different ingredients list to ensure that every product is tailored specifically for its intended usage. However, all products do share a common list of vital, active ingredients which ensure they deliver top results:

Agua:
The main ingredient of Hairfree? Water! Hairfree is a water-based product that’s gentle on the skin, easy to apply, and can be quickly wiped away with minimal mess.

Guar Gum: This is a natural product sourced from guar beans that’s used to thicken the Hairfree formula to make it spreadable. Guar gum is used in dough, yogurt, and milk!

Mercaptoacetic Acid: MAA, or thioglycolic acid (TGA) as it’s sometimes called, is a powerful solvent. It’s used in many depilatory products to dissolve hair above the skin.

Propylene Glycol: This is a synthetic alcohol which draws in and absorbs water to help the skin hold onto moisture for longer. It helps Hairfree to protect and care for the skin.

White Oil: This lubricant is yet another way that Hairfree cares for the skin. White oil is used in many moisturising products, such as lip balms, hair oils, and skin creams.

Vaseline: Vaseline blends the benefits of propylene glycol and white oil. It’s a powerful occlusive that not only hydrates but works to keep the moisture where it’s needed.

KOH: Potassium hydroxide (KOH) is a compound often found in cuticle removers because of its impact on the hair shaft. This makes it a powerful hair remover.

Stearyl Alcohol: This has two functions in Hairfree. First, it’s used as a thickener to create a spreadable formula. Second, it’s a great emollient, helping to keep the skin hydrated.

Lauryl Isoquinolinium Bromide: It’s believed this compound minimises energy stores in cells, which means that it essentially deactivates cells so they can’t stimulate follicles.

GSF2:0: The star of the show, Growth Shield Factor 2:0 is a compound that mimics the cell behavioural patterns in male pattern baldness, to shrink hair roots and stop growth.

Aloe Vera: All Hairfree formulas contain aloe vera, a soothing and healing ingredient which helps protect the skin and ensure Hairfree is enjoyable and comfortable to use.

Chapter Fifteen: The Clinical Basis for Permanent Hair Removal

To understand just how effective the combined active ingredients in Hairfree Hair Remover really could be, a clinical trial was undertaken with a total of 68 willing participants. The group was made up of 46 women, and 22 men, all between the ages of 23 and 67 years. For accuracy, the group was randomly split into two. One group was to receive Hairfree Hair Remover, and the other was to receive a placebo product consisting of a moisturising cream with no active hair removal ingredients involved.

The products were to be applied to the same area of skin each week, on the same day, for a total of four weeks over the total nine week period of the clinical trial. To measure effectiveness, researchers looked at hair growth reduction and density across a cross-section trichometer over five square centimetre of skin x 100 (mm2/cm2 x 100).

Results show that participants in the Hairfree group experienced a 25% loss of hair density each week on average, with around 93% reduction in hair growth seen by the end of a 30 day window. The results could continue to be seen across the entire nine week period. The control group did not see any hair removal results using the placebo.

What was particularly interesting to researchers was that the results from this clinical trial demonstrated enhanced effectiveness of the Hairfree formula over alternative hair removal methods that are highly popular amongst the trial demographic today. With a 93% reduction in hair growth at just 4 weeks, Hairfree outperforms methods such as electrolysis, laser hair removal, and IPL hair removal, while also proving to be a safe, comfortable, and pain free experience for users with no reported side effects of use.

Chapter Sixteen: Does Hairfree Have Any Adverse Side Effects?

Hairfree’s non-allergenic formulations are made with FDA-approved ingredients, which means that side effects from regular usage are very rare and have not been identified through independent dermatological testing or through clinical trials. The research that has been carried out confirms that all Hairfree products are compatible with a wide range of skin types and hair types, making it a safe and effective way to remove hair.

None of the six variations of Hairfree Hair Remover have been associated with any form of side effects, allergies, or skin irritation, providing complete peace of mind to users.

To ensure you’re using Hairfree in the safest way, we recommend using the right Hairfree product for the particular area of skin you wish to treat. In most cases, this will be the original Hairfree Hair Remover, but for sensitive areas, such as the face and private areas or genitals, we recommend using the Hairfree Female Facial Hair Remover and the Hairfree Intimate Hair Remover respectively which are milder formulations that are specially designed to care for and protect the more delicate regions of the body.

It’s important to remember that every type of skin is unique. While no adverse side effects or allergic reactions have been reported through extensive testing, it is recommended to spot test prior to use, just as you would with any new skincare product or hair colourant. This simply ensures that each user understands how their own skin will react to the formula, although adverse reactions are very rare and uncommon.

With no adverse effects, Hairfree is widely considered to be a much safer alternative that other methods of hair removal such as waxing, shaving, or even laser hair removal. Shaving can result in cuts, ingrown hairs, and damage to the skin due to the dragging motion of the laser, while waxing can cause redness, rashes, and swelling. Laser hair removal, while safe, does carry the risk of skin burns due to the high heats involved.

Chapter Seventeen: Exploring Different Hair Types

There are two main types of body hair that is grown by both men and women: vellus body hair, and terminal body hair. The Hairfree formula is designed to effectively and efficiently remove both types of body hair in a safe and pain-free way, with specially tailored variants designed to work specifically with proteins found in the hair types.

Vellus Hair

Vellus hair is typically fine, short, light, and barely noticeable under most circumstances, although it can be frustrating and it can significantly affect body confidence, especially in women. This type of hair grows pretty much all over the body, and is often referred to as ‘peach fuzz’ because of its resemblance to the outer skin of the fruit.
While Vellus hair is often hard to see under normal light, those who have higher levels of a hormone called cortisol can grow thicker and more visible vellus hair. Vellus hair on the face can also become more noticeable with the application of tinted moisturisers, foundations, powders, and contour. Hairfree Female Facial Hair Remover is designed to interact with the specific proteins in vellus hair for complete and permanent removal.

Terminal Hair

Terminal hair, or androgenic hair, is darker, longer, stronger, and more varied. For example, leg hair is usually a little softer than beard hair and neck hair which can be very coarse and tough. This type of hair is regulated by androgens — ‘male’ hormones (which are also present in the female body) — particularly testosterone and dihydrotestosterone. Men have more of these hormones, which is why they tend to grow more body hair than women. Hormonal changes during puberty and pregnancy, however, can mean that some women grow more terminal hair than others.
Terminal hair usually grows on the back, chest, arms, legs, pubic region, underarms, and on the face. Many women also grow terminal hair on the nipples and around the areola. Hairfree formulas are designed to remove androgen hairs directly from the root, with tailored Male Body Hair and Male Beard Hair products working with the proteins found in the more stubborn, thicker hair that is often grown by the male body.

Chapter Eighteen: Exploring Different Skin Types

Hairfree Hair Remover products have been designed for complete compatibility with all skin types, to create optimal, long lasting results for all men and women with unwanted hair. Hairfree can be used by men and women at any point on the Fitzpatrick Scale.

The Fitzpatrick Scale was developed by Thomas B. Fitzpatrick, who designed a 6-point chart of skin colours based on the skin’s reaction and response to ultraviolet light.

Type I: As the palest skin type, people with Type I skin usually have very fine, light hairs. Skin may be quite sensitive, so waxing is often very painful and can result in redness.

Type II: This type of skin is usually covered with fine, light coloured hairs, but they can affect body confidence. Hairfree is effective, yet gentle on this sensitive skin type.

Type III: A medium skin-type, Type III is still quite sensitive. Non-allergenic Hairfree ensures that hairs are removed completely from the root while helping to protect Type III skin.

Type IV: This is described as ‘moderate brown’ skin that is more prone to tanning than burning. Hair is often a little thicker and darker, and can appear to grow back quicker.

Type V: A ‘dark brown’ skin type, hairs can be darker on this type of skin, and hair may also be more dense. Hairfree bonds with the proteins in the hair to remove it effortlessly.

Type VI: This is the darkest skin type, and is described as ‘darkest brown’ on the Fitzpatrick Scale. Hairfree is designed to remove even the thickest hairs easily.

Chapter Nineteen: PCOS

PCOS — polycystic ovary syndrome — is a very common condition that affects about 1 in 10 women. One of the primary symptoms of PCOS is the presence of more ‘male hormones than are typically found in the female body. Androgen hormones such as testosterone and dihydrotestosterone are responsible for the growth of terminal body hair, so women with PCOS may experience faster and thicker hair growth, as well as terminal hair growth on the face, including in the neck, chin, and upper lip areas. Thick hair may also be grown on the chest, the back, and the buttocks with PCOS.

There is no cure for PCOS, but with the right combination of treatments many of the symptoms can be well managed. Weight loss may be recommended in some women, and medications can help to treat acne, fertility problems, and irregular periods.
Hairfree is one of the most effective ways to manage unwanted body hair growth, and improve confidence in the app

earance. While regular shaving and waxing are short term solutions to excessive hair growth, there is a need to carry out these methods very frequently as PCOS can cause hair to grow very rapidly, and very thickly. A more efficient and stress-free solution is to target the hair at the root, shrinking the follicle so that its performance is compromised. By shrinking the follicle, hairs will grow much slower, much weaker, and much lighter, helping women with PCOS feel confident.

Chapter Twenty: Ingrown Hairs

Ingrown hairs occur when a hair grows back on itself, into the skin, rather than out away from the surface. And they’re as unpleasant as they sound. Ingrown hairs can result in red, itchy, swollen, pus-filled bumps that are not only unappealing to look at but which can also be very painful. Some ingrown hairs can even result in infection if picked at.

Hairs that are coarse, thick, and curly are more prone to becoming ingrown, so the beard area and pubic region are commonly affected. The back, chest, legs, and armpits can also easily get ingrown hairs. How? Shaving is one of the biggest offenders.

When shaving, the hair is cut only at the surface of the skin, leaving the remainder of the hair inside the skin. This makes it easy for the hair to curl back on itself, rather than grow up and out from the surface of the skin. Ingrown hairs can also occur with waxing, plucking, and threading, when the entire hair fails to be removed entirely from the root.

To avoid ingrown hairs, it’s recommended to avoid shaving and other forms of hair removal that can leave you at risk, and instead use a hair removal method that kills the hair at the root for complete and thorough removal. Hairfree is designed for easy absorption right down to the follicle, removing all the hair, not just a small part of it.

Chapter Twenty One: Hairfree Tips & Tricks

Hairfree is a very effective way to remove unwanted hair and minimise and even prevent regrowth. However, it does work best when using the correct processes and procedures. Here are some simple tips and tricks to ensure you enjoy optimal result.

Use Hairfree regularly; we recommend applying once per week for 30 days, or for up to 6 weeks until you can no longer see any new hair growth in the area.

Clean the skin before use to remove any dirt and oils that can stop Hairfree penetrating the skin. For best results, use a water-based, oil-free cleanser.

Make sure Hairfree is kept on each area of skin for 4 – 5 minutes. To do this, it is best to remove the cream in the order that you applied it (first on, first off).

It’s easiest to remove Hairfree just with warm water (no soap). However, always finish with a cold rinse to shrink pores and close follicles for smooth-feeling skin.

Hairfree is gentle on the skin, but it does contain powerful, active ingredients. To avoid any discomfort, try not to leave the cream on for more than 10 minutes.

When treating areas of coarse, strong, and stubborn hair, a soak in warm water for 3 – 4 minutes can help prepare the hair for Hairfree. Pat dry before applying.

For super soft and hydrated skin, apply your favourite moisturiser around 30 minutes after removing Hairfree, giving the skin time to breathe after treatment.

Hairfree works best when applied to body hair that has been allowed to grow around 1mm – 2mm from the skin, ensuring it’s long enough to absorb the cream.

Don’t be afraid to use a little more Hairfree cream than recommended if you have very thick or dense hair. Hairfree works best when there is good coverage.

If you are not seeing the results you’d like, the cream may not be penetrating all the way down to the root. Try applying the Hairfree cream twice in one session.

Hairfree is a safe method of hair removal with no adverse side effects. However, it you experience any discomfort using the cream, it is best to discontinue use.

Chapter Twenty Two: FAQ

What is Hairfree?

Hairfree is a simple wipe on, wipe off cream that mimics the results of laser hair removal. It removes surface hair and shrinks the root to reduce new hair growth. When used once per week for 30 days, regrowth can be prevented for permanent hair removal.

How does it work?

Hairfree is like laser hair removal… in a tube! It dissolves surface hair and destroys the hair follicle by starving the hair root of vital nutrients. With regular weekly use, the hair becomes progressively thinner and softer until hair regrowth has completely stopped.

How long does it last?

Permanent hair removal with Hairfree takes about 30 days. When the hair is removed it grows back thinner and slower each time. With regular use over the course of around 4 to 6 weeks typically, it is possible to reduce hair growth to zero, like laser hair removal.

How do I use Hairfree?

It’s simple. Spread a small amount over unwanted hair, leave for 4 or 5 minutes, and wipe off with a face cloth or use the scraper provided. Surface hair comes off with the cream, and the hair root gets treated at the same time — just like laser hair removal.

How many times do I need to use Hairfree?

It’s advised that Hairfree should be applied every week for 4 to 6 weeks to completely stop hair growth in its tracks. After each application, new hair growth will be reduced noticeably until all follicles have been treated and new growth ceases completely.

No adverse long-term side effects have been reported. Hairfree uses FDA-approved ingredients, and has been formulated for all hair types and skin types to minimise the risk of irritation. Some users may experience a slight tingling, which is completely normal.

How is Hairfree different to other hair removers?

Hairfree works differently to all other hair removers because it dissolves hair AND kills the hair root. It delivers active ingredients directly to the hair root to prevent new growth, working as both an epilator and a depilator for all-round great results and smooth skin.

Should I do a patch test before using Hairfree?

Skin sensitivity to the product depends upon the area of the body being treated. However, it is recommended that a small area is treated at first to monitor the skin’s reaction. Clinical data shows that only 1/2% of users have experienced any discomfort.

What are the ingredients?

The Hairfree range of hair removal products is based on the following formulation, modified for use on varying types of body hair from female facial hair, leg hair, underarm hair to male body hair and thick coarse androgen-driven male beard hair: Aqua, Guar gum, Mercaptoacetic Acid, Propylene Glycol, White Oil, Vaseline, KOH, Stearyl Alcohol, Calcium Oxide, GSF2:0; Lauryl Isoquinolinium Bromide, Aloe Vera.

Is Hairfree painful or uncomfortable to use?

Some users may experience a slight tingling sensation for a few minutes as the active ingredients work to penetrate all the way down to the hair root. This is normal, and should not be painful. Hairfree is designed as a safe, pain-free method of hair removal.

Can I use Hairfree on broken or irritated skin?

It is not advisable to use Hairfree on or near fresh scars, broken skin, or recently sun burnt skin. This is because injury to the skin can affect how that skin reacts to topical applications. It is best to wait until the skin is fully healed before applying Hairfree.

Are there any sensitive areas to avoid?

The key areas to exercise special caution when using Hairfree are the genital areas, eyes, nipples, and any areas of the body with mucous membranes. Hairfree should not be used directly on the nipples or vagina, but can safely be used on surrounding skin.

Does Hairefree work on all types of hair?

Yes. There are no hair types that have not responded well to treatment with Hairfree. Thicker hair will require more product and longer treatment time than thinner hair, but with regular and continued use for 4-6 weeks, everyone should notice great results.

Is Hairfree FDA approved?

The ingredients in Hairfree are FDA approved and have been shown in independent dermatological and clinical data to be safe to use. Due to the use of FDA approved products and rigorous testing, users should not experience any adverse side effects.

Can I use Hairfree after having laser treatment?

It is not advisable to use Hairfree within seven days of having laser hair removal as laser treatment will not affect all growing hairs. For best results, try to wait until new hair growth is visible before using Hairfree. Growth of 1mm – 2mm responds best.

Is the treatment reversible?

The effects of Hairfree cannot be immediately reversed so special care should be taken when using the product. If areas of the body come into contact with the product, hair growth will cease in those areas depending upon how long the product stayed in contact with the skin. Do not touch the scalp or eyebrows with product on the hands.

How long should my hair be when using Hairfree?

For Hairfree to be most effective you should have a small growth of approximately 1mm to 2mm of hair in the area to be treated. This is because the product must be absorbed by surface hair for the active ingredients to penetrate below the surface to the root.

Does HairFree work on blond and light colored hair?

Hairfree has been formulated to work on all kinds of hair; blond to black, straight or curly, fine or coarse. Unlike laser hair removal, Hairfree will react with all colours and all types of hair, and can be used to remove both fine vellus hair and thicker terminal hair.

Can HairFree be used on the private parts of the body?

Hairfree Intimate Hair Remover can be used for the effective removal of pubic hair. It is safe to use on skin areas but avoid contact with membrane areas. If you feel unsure, it is a good idea to test a small area first to check how your skin responds to Hairfree.

Can HairFree treat grey hair?

Hairfree works on all kinds of hair; grey to black, straight or curly, fine or coarse. Unlike laser hair removal, Hairfree will react with all colours and all types of hair, including stubborn greys. Hairfree has tested well in clinical trials when used on grey hairs.
